AjoCard recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our platform. This statement is meant to affirm our utmost respect for your privacy rights. This privacy policy sets out our approach to personal data inclusive of personal data of our users, systems,operations and processes of AjoCard Limited that involves the collection, use , storage and disclosure etc of personal information of our esteemed users.

This privacy policy applies to the use of our website at https://ajocard.com, and all affiliated websites and applications owned and operated by us. (Collectively, the “website”), applications, other online services and /or any related services, sales, marketing, promotional or events and social media activities. Currently, this is only available to users in Nigeria and for our users, this privacy policy is part of our terms of use.

This policy applies to your use of our services which are accessible through any device ( desktop, laptop, mobile phone , tablet) and also applies to all offline interactions you have with AjoCard Limited.

1.2. Types of Personal and Sensitive User Data we access/collect

Information You Provide Us With

In general, you can visit https://www.ajoCard.comwithout telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. When you submit a query to us via any means or register for an AjoCard account, via website , we may collect your personal information from You which may include but not limited to your name, email address, phone number, image, banking details such as NIN, BVN, address, and other information that identifies you (collectively “personal information”).

By providing this and any other kind of data to us, you expressly agree to our collection, use, storage and disclosure of such information as described in this privacy policy and the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation(NDPR). You would also need to have a username and password as login access as well as your phone number where we may receive Otps for verification purposes where you decide to open an account with AjoCard Limited.

We may receive , use, store and transfer different kinds of personal information about you including but not limited to identity information: first name, last name , middle name,date of birth, gender, NIN, address, signature, BVN etc.

  • - Contact Information: This includes your address, email and Phone number.
  • - Transaction information: This includes details of your transaction.
  • - Location Information: This picks location disclosed by GPS Technology.

We collect personal information about transactions with us and others. We may also collect your information from third parties if a user fills you in as their next of KIN. AjoCard Limited assesses and collects information such as BVN, NIN, Date of Birth, Image, Address Gender, Device Information, SMS, Call-related information, Authentication Information, Microphone, Camera and other sensitive data on the app . This information is to ensure due diligence and help us stay compliant with applicable regulations on account creation with FinTech Companies.

1.3. Uses of Information

AjoCard Limited collects personally identifiable information that we use to:

  • - provide our services and supporting customer support
  • - profile AjoCard users and administer AjoCard pre-paid accounts
  • - resolve disputes, collect fees and troubleshoot problems
  • - prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities and enforce our User Agreement
  • - customize, measure and improve our services
  • - customize and improve the layout of our website
  • - compare information for accuracy and verify with third parties
  • - update our databases and provide user support

1.4. Sharing of Information

Save as provided hereunder, AjoCard does not share your personal information with unauthorized persons and adequate safeguards have been put in place to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure confidentiality of your personal information in line with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation and other applicable regulations.

1.5. Acknowledgment

You acknowledge that by using the AjoCard services, some of your personal information will be passed on to any person whom you receive AjoCard money from, or send AjoCard money to, and will be available to any third party involved in the operation of the service including without limitation, AjoCard partner banks.

1.6. Account Monitoring

You accept that AjoCard shall have the right to monitor your account usage and may disclose personal information to local enforcement or investigative agencies or any competent regulatory or governmental agencies to assist in the prevention, detection or prosecution of money laundering,terrorism financing and proliferation financing related activities.

1.7. AjoCard Employee Obligation

AjoCard employees who handle personal information are under an obligation to treat it confidentially and would not disclose it to third parties except in express instance required by law. AjoCard employees are also responsible for the internal security of the information and employees who violate AjoCard's privacy policies would be handled in line with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation.

1.8. Submitting Information Through AjoCard

Any person submitting information to AjoCard through our platform may be granted access rights to that information. AjoCard has developed systems that enable access and correction of information submitted to it. Other Rights to Personal Information with Us

  • - Request Correction to your Personal Information

We respect your wishes to correct inaccurate information and as such you must notify us of any change in your personal information via support@ajocard.com.

  • - Request Access to your Personal Information

You can ask us whether we are storing your personal information and you can ask to receive a copy of that information. Before sending this, we will ask you to provide your proof of identity. If not, we reserve the right to refuse to send you any information. We will respond as quickly as we can to your request for details of personal information, we hold about you.

  • - Request us to refrain from doing certain things with your data

You may object to the processing of your personal data where you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedom. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal data ,however this is subject to the legal and reguatory requirement on the same and also the requirement of the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation to override your decision on the same especially where it is for illegitimate reasons.

  • - Request for partial or complete erasure of personal information

You may request for us to delete or remove your personal data where there is no good reason for us to continue to process it. You can also request for us to delete or remove your personal data. Note, Our action in this regard would also align with the relevant regulations and acts applicable i.e NDPR and the MLPPA 2022 etc.

1.9. Privacy Policy Updates

AjoCard may at any time amend, delete or add to this Privacy Policy by giving notice of such changes or posting a revised version of our Privacy Policy on the AjoCard online portal. Any change will be made unilaterally by us and you will have been deemed to have accepted this change after you have received notice of it.

AjoCard will give you 1 month notice of any changes, with the changes taking effect once the 1 month notice period has passed. The 1 month notice period will not apply where a change relates to the addition of a new service, extra functionality to the existing services or any other change which we believe in our reasonable opinion to neither reduce your rights nor increase your responsibilities. In such instances, the change will be made without prior notice to you and shall be effective immediately upon giving notice of it.

If you do not accept any change, you will be required to close your AjoCard prepaid account, otherwise you will be deemed to have accepted it. Any closure of the account still renders you liable to AjoCard for any liability incurred by you prior to closure.

1.10. Correspondence

Should you send us correspondence including emails and letters, we will retain such information in the records of your account. We will also retain customer service correspondence and other correspondence from AjoCard to you. The rationale for this retention is to keep records of our relationship, measure and improve customer service and to investigate potential fraud and violations of our User Agreement. We may, over time, delete these records in line with existing legal and regulatory requirements on record keeping and our retention policy.

1.11. Questionnaires & Surveys

From time to time, AjoCard may offer optional questionnaires and surveys to our users for such purposes as collecting demographic information or assessing users' interests and needs. The use of information collected will be explained in detail in the survey itself. If we collect personal identifiable information from our users in these questionnaires and surveys, the users will be given notice of how the information will be used prior to their participation in the survey or questionnaire.

1.12. Security

AjoCard is committed to managing customer information with the highest standards of information security. We use computer safeguard such as firewalls and data encryption, enforce physical access to our buildings and files and only authorize access to personal information to only employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.

The security of your AjoCard prepaid account also rests on the protection of your PIN. You should not share your PIN with anyone and no employee of AjoCard will ever ask you for either of these so any email or correspondence requesting for such information should be treated as unauthorized and suspicious and the same must be forwarded to support@ajocard.com for necessary action.

Should you share your PIN with any third parties, such third parties will have access to your account and your personal information and you may be responsible for any actions taken using this information. In the event you suspect a third party has gained access to your PIN, please log into your AjoCard profile, change it and notify us straightaway. Where you feel your account has been compromised in any way, please contact our support team to block your account pending when you have established your account security for normalcy to be restored upon completion of due diligence.

1.13. Confidentiality Clause

Note that AjoCard Limited will not be liable for breach of confidentiality on your account on your part. You are expected to ensure the safety of your account at all times and refrain from dealing with unscrupulous persons and entities. AjoCard Limited holds the confidentiality of your information strictly and would not compromise it under any unwarranted legal and regulatory circumstances.

1.14. Compliance with Relevant Regulations

Please note that AjoCard Limited complies with the extant regulations and legal requirements. We ensure security of your information in accordance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation(NDPR), Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Act 2022(MLPPA 2022) and other relevant regulatory and legal requirements and your information is treated as confidential and in line with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
